If you have ever been skeptical about making a New Line for the horror classic movie “Nightmare on Elm Street”, your fears will be relieved. New Line cast Jackie Earle Haley for Freddy Krueger, iconic slasher.

Earle’s name has been on so many fans wish list, and „Watchmen” actor teased with possibility. “I just have to say I have no idea; I’m so busy trying to still reconcile Rorschach. I’m curious about [‘Nightmare’], but I don’t know.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, his costar, agreed with so many fans that no one is better: “I personally would love to see him as Freddy Krueger. I can’t think of anyone else that could pull it off.”

Talented Haley enjoyed career resurgence in past few years, started from “Can you believe he was in ‘The Bad News Bears’ as a kid?” to the Oscar nomination as for heartbreaking and chilling turn in “Little Children.”

When casting as Rorschach, everyone rejoiced, and despite of talented actors, as masked vigilante he stole that show and everyone agreed about that.

It will not be so long until he gets in bloody action, as “Nightmare” begins to shoot in Chicago next month, with Samuel Bayer that is directing from new script of Wesley Strick. Film may be released in 2010.
