Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, aka the world famous Tom Cruise was born in July-3-1962, in Syracuse, New York. His ambition was to become a priest, until he reached his high school when he realized that he is able to try acting and headed to New York when he was eighteen.
His debut performance was in ‘Endless Love’, released in 1981. In the same year, he got another much more important role in the film ‘Taps’. The movie was average in the Box Office. In 1983, Tom could become one among the teenage stars for the movie ‘The Outsiders’. In the same year, he could play a main role in a comedy movie called ‘Losin’ it’. Hollywood witnessed the outstanding abilities of Tom Cruise as an actor, with in the next five years.
The breakthrough of the most sought after actor in the screen history was through the comedy film ‘Risky Business’, and the film is well known for having launched the highest paid actor to the stardom. The lip synchronization of Tom Cruise for the song ‘Old Time Rock and Roll’ of Bob Seger was much legendary in the 1980’s film industry. The military thriller ‘A Few Good Men’ acted with Demy Moore and Jack Nicholson was another super hit which gave him Golden Globe and MTV nominations. ‘The Firm’ that won The People Choice Award’s Favorite Dramatic Motion Picture, and ‘Interview with the Vampire’ (1994), were his next pictures. Tom Cruise starred and produced ‘Mission Impossible’ in 1996, which collected US$456 million with the worldwide collection. ‘Jerry Maguire’ also gave him Academy Award’s Best Actor nomination. ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ with Nichole Kidman, raised great controversies. In the same year 1999, ‘magnolia’ gave him the Best Supporting Actor, for the Oscar Awards.
In 2000, ‘Mission Impossible 2’ was another blockbuster, followed by ‘Minority Report’, ‘The Last Samurai’, ‘Collateral’(2004), ‘War of The Worlds’ (2005), ‘Mission Impossibe3’ , ‘Lions for Lambs’, ‘Tropic Thunder’ and ‘Valkyrie’ all showed his irresistible talent and he still continues guarantying the smash for the Hollywood, for the each picture he is acting.
