Gwyneth Paltrow Biography

Gwyneth PaltrowGwyneth is an American actress born on September 27th 1972. She is the daughter of Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow. Paltrow was born in California. Her mother was an actress and her father was a television director, producer, and writer. Paltrow’s father is of Russian Jewish descent and her mother is a Quaker of Dutch Pennsylvania ancestry. Paltrow was brought up in Santa Monica and studied at the Crossroads school for a few years and later shifted to The Spence School. Gwyneth Paltrow has one younger brother. After her schooling she went for further studies to the University of California.

In order to gain recognition in acting Paltrow stopped her university education. She began her career in a small theater in 1990. Paltrow made stage appearances in 1990 and her first stage performance was Proof. Her first film, Shout was released in 1991. She also did many other films in the following years. She also worked in the films “Hook”, and “Flesh and Bone”.

Paltrow got recognition as a matured actress in 1995 because of her performance in the movie Se7en. In this her co-stars were Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. This film won many awards. It was successful critically and commercially. Her movie Shakespeare in Love gave here recognition as an international actress. Because of her role in this movie, she won many international awards. She won the Academy award for best actress, golden globe award, and outstanding lead actress award.

Her success in films started in 1998 and since then she has won many awards and gained a lot of attention. Her movie, The Talented Mr. Ripley released in 1999, and this too was a huge success. After this movie, Shallow Hal was released in 200. Her father produced a movie called Duets in 2000; in this movie she sang two single lines of the movie’s soundtrack. Recently she got an award for her role in the movie Iron Man (2008).

She has been a media figure for long. Her personal life has often been highlighted by the media. She first dated Brad Pitt, and later got married to Chris Martin. Chris Martin is the lead singer of British rock band, ColdPlay. The couple was blessed with two children. Besides acting Paltrow is the brand ambassador for Estee Lauder’s perfumes. She first promoted these perfumes in 2005. Estee Lauder donates money to a breast cancer association. Paltrow is interested in social service. She serves in the board of the Robin Hood foundation. This organization attempts to resolve problems caused by poverty in New York City

Many times the media targeted Paltrow. Scientists criticized her when she said that shampoo causes cancer. She said that I fear that shampoo’s cause cancer in children. Her statement was contradicted by Professor Hugh Pennington. He said that shampoo is safe until you drink it. In September 2008 Paltrow launched an online lifestyle news letter and Goop. This website nourishes the power in humans and helps them bring forward their inner aspect. Paltrow received a Grammy nomination for her reading of the classical audio Bear books of author Bill Martin Jr.
