David Robert Joseph Beckham was born a Londoner to parents of humble profession. His father worked as a fitter and mechanic for kitchens while his mother worked as a hair dresser. He took to foot ball naturally by virtue of the fact that his parents were hugely crazy about football.
His parents were immensely attached to the game and both of them were staunch supporters of the Manchester United. He practiced football along with his father at a nearby park and this is where he perfected the art of tackling the ball and cleverly protecting it from the opponent. Beckham was also taught to control a falling ball from a high rise and to kick the ball into the goal post from the middle of the ground. At a prominent game in Wimbledon, he scored a goal which brought to lime light his talent and people began noticing this emerging super star. David Beckham was keen to learn football and so he joined a football school. Being a natural player he got hooked on to the game pretty easily. His talents surfaced to the world when he was selected for the Manchester United team as its mascot when he was just eleven years old.
He played as a midfield player in various clubs and proved his mettle. He was very eager to join the Manchester United and when an offer was made he gladly accepted the offer. Due to differences that threatened to break the team Beckham moved out to the Real Madrid team. He seems to be quite comfortable with this new team. For almost six years upto 2006 he was the captain of the national team. He secured quite a few victories which are always green in the memory for his club.
In the world cup against Argentina he was abruptly sent out of the match and this almost ruined his career. Sure, there was an error on his part but the world reacted too strongly against him. Any body other than Beckham would have quit the game forever. But being a fan of football himself he did not allow any thing to stop his playing of football. He married Victoria of spice group fame and the couple has three sons now. In fact his last son is named Cruz after tom cruise, a family friend of the Beckhams. This man is the legend that every body would like to emulate. The media and the advertisers are always bending over backwards to get him in to their act. They are confident that endorsements by him will sell. David Beckham has shown to the world that you can be from a humble background but what you achieve should not be humble.
