He is happily married to Angelina Jolie who is rocking the celluloid world with her tender charm laced with a strong under current of masculine strength in all her moves. Brad Pitt did not make it easily to the place where he is now. In fact he would match perfectly to your description of a useless boy.
It is very queer indeed that how fate turns events for the selected one without him knowing that. Very very conservative, is the only compliment you could pay for Pitt’s family. Deeply religious with strong attachment to the Baptist sect his parents brought up their 3 children of whom Brad was the eldest in the true spirit of Christianity. Nothing even remotely connected to the tinsel world was ever discussed at home. His father owned a few trucks and went about his own business and had no intention at all to see one of his children act in movies. Strong moral values and devotion were the virtues of his mother who was doing a job that matched her mental setup- family counseling. If Brad had told her earlier that his intention was to abandon studies and pursue interests in acting she would have instantly made him sit for a counseling session with her.
Like all good boys Brad did finish his schooling with outstanding performance and went on to do journalism at the University of Missouri. Half way through the course he had other thoughts in mind and grew fond of acting. The urge became very intense that he could no more concentrate on journalism. If he had completed his course he would be sweating it out at a newspaper office now. But fate had strange things in store fore him and one day Brad Pitt suddenly abandoned his journalism course. He was only two credits away before discontinuing it and imagine what amount of counseling he should have gone through from his mother an upright virtuous lady!
Brad managed to convince his parents he was going to study acting from now on and came to Los Angeles. He joined acting classes and was doing multiple errands to support him. He delivered refrigerators and would drive cars for any one who paid some money to him. He did not care to whom he worked for as long as he got his money. He later admitted that his main income during those days was from driving strippers from one party to another. This continued for quite some time as fate again gave its twist to his life. In his acting school his name got wrongly included in the list of selected students to do their stint at a movie instead of a classmate’s name.
Brad Pitt now landed in Hollywood! From here on there was no looking back and in seven months time he was doing many roles in TV films also. He first acted in Cutting Class and later in Thelma and Louis which made the tinsel world acknowledge the arrival of a star.
