Alicia Keys is an admired R&B stage actress. Her actual name is Alicia Augello Cook. She was born on 25th January 1981. She is an immensely popular American recording artist, musician, as well as, an actress. She was born in Manhattan, New York and she used to live in Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan with her mother. She made her appearance in television on a show called ‘The Cosby Show’ at the age of four. She graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School at the age of 16. After her schooling, she went for higher education to Columbia University, but she gave a break to education because of her music career. Her first album was released with J Records.

Keys preferred playing classical music and she started playing music from the age of seven. Keys majored in music and she started writing songs from the age of 14. Alice Keys is the co founder of Keep a Child Alive. It’s a nonprofit organization that helps people of Africa. Mostly, this nonprofit organization supplies medicines and gives moral support to families affected by HIV and AIDS. She recorded an album called Don’t Give Up for World’s Aids Day 2005. Alice Keys loves kids and this is why she donated huge amount to kids suffering with HIV.
Alice Keys and her manager signed a film production deal with Disney. Their first film being developed will be a 1958 comedy called Bell, Book and Candle. Keys and Jeff Robinson also managed to form a post TV production company called Big Pita. Their first project will be a television series called UPN. It is an inspiring story taken from her past. This storyline of this show depicts how a biracial child grew up in New York. Keys’ has performed in many live concerts all over the world. Her latest concert was arranged in Tokyo, and with her mesmerizing voice she rocked the stage of Tokyo. Recently Alicia Keys won the Best Female R&B Vocal performance award at the Grammy 2009 Award ceremony. She has won an award for her album Superwoman.
